["Jamina Lynn Jimmie Carder, 78, is the owner of Jims Spaghetti and Steak in Huntington, WV. Jims was founded in 1938 by Jimmies parents, who were both of Lebanese descent. 25 years ago, Jimmie moved back from Nashville, TN to operate the restaurant, which was awarded West Virginias first James Beard American Classics Award in 2019. http://www.jimsspaghetti.com/"]
["Cecelia Coleman Smith was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia in 1949. Originally from Pickens, West Virginia, her family moved away from the Helvetia/Pickens community when she was seven so her father could take a coal mining job. She moved back to Pickens in 2005. Mrs. Smith served in the military and is a member of the local American Legion chapter. She is also part of the Pickens Improvement and Historical Society, the Farm Womens Club, and occasionally volunteers at the Hutte Restaurant.This audio slideshow is part of a series of interviews conducted with foodways practitioners in Helvetia, West Virginia, as part of the Helvetia Foodways Oral History Project in partnership with the Southern Foodways Alliance. Costa has been building this collection throughout his life, and he restores many of the old tools and instruments himself. In addition to his public presentations on music and material culture, Costa appeared in the 1987 John Sayles film Matewan. ["Mary Jane Coulter (b. December 31, 1948) is a native and lifelong resident of Scotts Run, WV. She is the executive director of the Scotts Run Museum and owns the building in which it is housed. In this interview, she speaks about the history of Scotts Run and her experience growing up in the Scotts Run community, as well as her role in the Scotts Run Museum and Trail.
